Naming a company, a period or a rep

Narrow any question by company, date range or salesperson, in the same conversation.

Add whichever detail matters

Narrow a question the same way you'd clarify it out loud, by naming any combination of:

  • A company — "and in [Company A]..."
  • A time period — "...this quarter", "...last week", "...since the start of the year"
  • A salesperson — "how did [Rep] do this month?", "what did [Rep] sell to [Client]?"

Combine them in one question

You don't have to ask one detail at a time: "what did [Rep] sell in [Company A] last month?" works as a single question, the same way as asking each part on its own and piecing the answers together yourself.

It stays inside the conversation

Once you've named a company, a period, or a rep, follow-up questions keep that context without you repeating it: ask "how much did we sell this month?", then just "and last month?", and she carries the rest of the question forward from what you already asked.

Next: when she doesn't know

See when emily does not know for what happens when a question falls outside what's connected or what you're allowed to see.
