Notes

A dated note you can type or dictate against a company, a contact or a deal, read back newest first, and kept separate from a record's own free-text description field.

Attaches to a company, a contact or a deal

A note is a dated entry you can log against a company, a contact or a deal — a quick record of a call, a visit, or anything else worth keeping alongside that account. Open any one of the three and its notes sit in their own section on the record.

Dictate it, or type it

Type a note directly into that section, or tell emily what happened and let her write it up for you: say what happened after a call or a visit, on web chat, browser voice or WhatsApp, and she turns what you said into a note in your own words rather than word for word. See logging a visit by voice for that in detail, and logging from a photo for the same idea starting from a photo instead of speech.

Read back newest first

Ask emily what's logged against a company, a contact or a deal, and she reads its notes back newest first — the most recent one at the top, working back through whatever was logged before it.

Not the same as a record's Description field

A note is separate from a record's own free-text field. On a deal, for instance, that field is labelled Description, and it holds a single block of text you edit in place rather than a running list of dated entries — see deals for how the two sit side by side there.

Deleting a note

Deleting a note follows the same rule as deleting a company, a contact or a deal — see activity history for how that's restricted and recorded.

Where it works

CRM works on web chat, browser voice and WhatsApp. Not on a phone call.
